Brake repair questions
How do I know if I need new brake pads?
Common signs are a high-pitched squeal, a grinding sound, a longer stopping distance or a brake warning light. The only sure way to know is to measure the pads, which we do during a brake inspection.
Do rotors always have to be replaced with the pads?
No. If a rotor is thick enough and not warped or deeply scored, it can often be resurfaced. If it is below the manufacturer's minimum thickness, it has to be replaced. We measure before we recommend either one.
